RPGaDAY #5

For day five of RPG a Day, we've got an RPG with great writing, and this allows me to shoutout something I've just been getting into, Mage: The Awakening 2nd Edition.

It presents a setting very similar but also quite distinct from its predecessor Mage: The Ascension, and I find it much easier to get into. Instead of the Technocracy, a great but very complex faction, Awakening's antagonists are the Seers of the Throne, a much easier kind of fascist mage to grasp, and the game generally is very easy to understand while still featuring a lot of interesting prose.

RPGaDAY 2024 #3 & #4

I missed day 3 so you're getting a double feature.

For Day 3, we've got my most often played RPG- And just like day 2, that's Vampire: The Masquerade, though since it's also Day 4, for an RPG with great art, I'll give the spotlight to 20th Anniversary Edition.

The book in general has great art, but two illustrations I want to focus on are these:

These are just really good in my opinion. That's it.

RPGaDAY 2024 #2

For day 2 of RPGaDAY, we've got the RPG I've most recently played, and that would be Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition.

This game does not need introductions, if you're seeing this blog you've very likely at least heard about VtM. The 5th edition World of Darkness games are a bit controversial, but I like them, they got for a very distinctly closer to the ground approach, and are easy to learn.

RPGaDAY 2024 #1

In order to, uh, actually use this blog? I've decided to post about RPGaDAY on here.

For Day One, we've got the First RPG I bought this year, and that would be Deviant: The Renegades.

A "Tabletop game of Vengeance", as it calls itself, Deviant is about the Remade, people who have been turned into monsters and are looking to get back at those who transformed them.

I haven't gotten to play it yet, but it's got a very strong concept reminiscent of the Kamen Rider series, which is basically the whole reason I got into it.

Deviant is set in the Chronicles of Darkness, the successor to White Wolf's World of Darkness, which is notably home to Vampire: The Masquerade.
